The mission of this program is to encourage and strengthen family caregiver efforts and mitigate caregiver’s strains. Case managers visit the home and assign a strategically matched AmeriCorps volunteer to supervise the care of the recipient, provide companionship, and assistance with activities of daily living, thereby giving the caregiver a break from the 24/7 worry and strain of caregiving.
