New Product Alert: Memory Board for Dementia Patients

Managing anxiety, apathy, and agitation levels in loved ones with dementia can be challenging.

A few years ago I wrote a blog post about writing messages on large white boards as a way to manage these symptoms. I thought it was a great idea and recommended it with great success to many of those I've worked with.

I recently learned of the new Memory Board that helps family members/caregivers stay connected with their loved ones. It can be used in addition to the large white board or by itself.  It's a tablet-like screen that's driiven by an APP. The family member can send messages remotely to the screen throughout the day. One can include short messages such as " Mom, I will be there in 20 minutes,"  a medication reminder or even a full daily schedule.  It comes in two difference sizes.

Not only is it a good potential solution for those with early and moderate levels of cognitive impairment, but I think could be great for those who live alone as an additional means to always feel connected.

I think many family caregivers will find it a helpful tool to reduce the levels of anxiety and stress that comes with caregiving for a loved one.
